2:30: Amanda and Jenny answer Samson Bourne’s question on anime’s translation and subtitles before translating the manga, and what they consider when translating a manga that has an anime adaptation. And also what happens when some things are incorrect due to when a manga or anime is translated!

23:00: Amanda talks about Yokai Rental Shop (Seven Seas) and Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School (Yen Press). Both required her to learn a lot about yokai.

26:30: Jenny gets Amanda to talk about Girls Last Tour, which she is currently translating. It’s first volume is already out.


Amanda Haley is the freelance translator for GTO: Paradise Lost, Dimension W, Kin-iro Mosaic, and The Royal Tutor–the manga and the anime, to name a few. She won best translation of Coppelion for the first manga translation battle in 2012.

Jenny McKeon is a comic artist and freelance translator of Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody, Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, Please Tell Me, Galko-Chan! and Hana and Hina After School to name a few. She was a first place winner for her translation of Nichijou.
