The OASG Podcast

Show Notes

0:00: Justin and Helen speak to each other again over the internet and say what they’ve been up to. The problem for Justin is aside from the large list of anime he’s watching this season he’s now very obsessed with the Ascendance of a Bookworm series for some reason. Meanwhile Helen did find time to do something different, like finish The Great Pretender. Along the way the two hosts talk about ordering or avoid ordering out of stock titles for various reasons.

Pandemic News

12:15: There will be a bit more discussion on COVID-19 impacting events next episode (since news emerged regarding SDCC and AX this past week) but the two hosts talked about what’s been going on in Japan, and when the final Evangelion movie is going to air over there.

News

14:14: Major Demon Slayer news occurred in the past two weeks:

16:25: Anime of course has been booming for a while, but despite some of its success, the issue of animators and their pay continue to be a question mark, and the NYT covered that.

20:56: Remember the Sentai/Christopher Ayres/Krystal LaPorte situation? Now that Log Horizon S3 is on Funimation and now has a dub, we are starting to get clarification on the situation, and the two hosts…are still pretty baffled!

24:35: The last bit of news is localization, and specifically, what Seven Seas has now opened themselves up to as reddit threads and Twitter users noted a good amount of text cut for Classroom of the Elite and some major adjustments to moments involving Rudeus and Paul, among a few other things, in Mushoku Tensei compared to the Japanese version. The two hosts discuss how now for a good while, Seven Seas will have people questioning their translators and translations because of this (and how they responded to it).

Licenses
