Lust Geass Volume 1, Rikka

Lust Geass is exactly as the title says. The only intrigue would be learning how far these high-schoolers’ horniness go as they stop by the mysterious Old & Rare Books shop.

That’s about it in it being interestingly entertaining otherwise.

The good news is you can’t say you weren’t fooled or tricked when reading a manga called Lust Geass. We are introduced to Souta, who has had a thing for his childhood friend, Rikka, for a while. As you likely guessed, he’s too scared to say he likes her, and combined with feeling pressure from both his & Rikka’s beautiful mom to maintain said friendship (A: Only he feels that pressure B: of course the moms are hot), he decides to hold those feelings to himself. But when he manages to get himself lost one day, he finds a used bookstore, and he is encouraged by the well-endowed and cloaked owner to take a strange book for free. Ignoring the sketchy reasons for allowing him to do that, he hands Rikka the book later on as an early gift because she’s conveniently into occult eccentricities.

The next day, he suddenly awakes to a half-naked Rikka on top of him. Normally for him this wouldn’t be an issue since he’s been having dreams of this happening to him lately. But the feeling of his hands on Rikka’s breasts informs him real fast that it’s real life. And her also yelling about being touched also means he’s got some stuff to figure out fast too.

Silly plot aside, the manga teases and rewards the more you read through it. It not only shows how Rikka’s lust builds due to the book and Souta’s continued helping hands, it also shows Souta becoming less and less enthused with helping her horniness. Ah, learning that it does take two to tango to get maximum satisfaction is natural, but he also begins wondering if she even likes him without whatever curse she’s under.

You’ll see these two spend much time together at various places, but it establishes quickly it won’t just be Rikka. There’s the typical class president, Makoto, who slowly begins to understand she has feelings for Souta for some reason. This thought intensifies when she accidentally stumbles upon the pair getting off to each other, and the end of volume 2 suggests she will get involved somehow. There’s also a teacher that might find her way into the lives of these three students at some point. And it would not be a surprise if the owner of the shop herself joins in on the lust.

But despite all of that, this manga’s pretty rote. Them drawn getting horny and being confused is about the only thing that’s done well. If that’s ok, this is worth your time. Otherwise, there’s really no humor or any interesting hook you haven’t seen before, and with little else to entertain, it’s a book you read once and likely forget months from now. Well, for me at least I’ll hope for the best for Makoto and remember the two moms in this manga.
