Two manga translators enter, both explain how they broke into the manga industry, translating Japanese comics, and...working on nude characters in public.

TheOASG is excited to host a podcast that has two manga translators working in the manga industry share their thoughts on breaking in. Amanda Haley and Jenny McKeon have been translating manga after they made their respective debuts in the Manga Translation Battle. Their credits so far:

Amanda Haley: Anne Happy, Coppelion, Cuticle Detective Inaba, Servant x Service, Dimension W, The Heroic Legend of Arslan (starting with Volume 4).

Here’s Amanda on the freelance life.

Jenny McKeon: Nichijou, Galko-Chan, Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, Secret of The Princess.

Here’s Jenny writing about her debut in the industry.

As their schedules can get hectic there’s no set date for podcasts, but the aim is to record something once a month.

Feel free to give this a listen, and hopefully learn how you can break into the business, or understand how words are in Japanese and how they can be interpreted in English.

If you have any questions for the two, please ask them in the comments section below.
