The OASG PodcastShow Notes

0:00: Justin and Helen chat about what’s gotten their attention over the past two weeks, which includes maybe reading some manga and maybe someone finishing up Kaleido Star.

11:49: The two get into news, starting with Seven Seas licensing Yuhki Kamatani’s Shimanami Tasogare.

14:49: Kodansha’s bringing over some more digital titles, which includes one title that’s hard to say, and other that involving standing on a million lives. They’re also bringing over Boarding School Juliet to print.

18:12: Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is back!…Back faster than Justin expected! Part 5 is airing this October.

19:43: Cross Infinite World licensed Roka Sayuki’s isekai The Eccentric Master and the Fake Lover LN. Let’s just say many questions were asked about its premise.

21:26: J-Novel Club’s pre-AX announcements are here!…One involves loving your slave elf bride. The other involves just being lazy to conquer a dungeon.

23:50: Yuri Kuma Arashi, the manga by Akiko Morishima, has been licensed! It’s now under the localized title of Yuri Bear Storm. Everything about this would sound great, except TOKYOPOP licensed it. Considering their history…this can’t be great.

30:07: The two discuss two WSJ manga that ended…and how that finally might affect English Weekly Shonen Jump.

32:30: Sad news: due to the author’s health, Recovery of an MMO Junkie has ended.

33:41: Verizon’s go90, which has been covered on the site, is done! It’s ending at the end of the month.

34:40: Finally, Helen’s extremely excited to talk about Yuri on Ice…and the fact that there was a movie announcement.

Main Topic!

Spring Anime Season wrap-up: Justin and Helen give their final thoughts on the spring season shows they watched, some of which stood out well (Megalobox, Wotakoi) and some that essentially disappointed (Record of Grancrest War, Devils’ Line). However, Helen mostly remarks on everything Justin watched, and Justin makes a valiant effort to explain how he did it.
