20:00: Japanese police arrested 35-year-old game and anime composer Hidekazu Tanaka in Tokyo on the charge of attempted forcible indecency.

21:22: As Helen pointed out, there was news involving voice actor Takahiro Sakurai who had been engaged in an extramarital affair for at least 10 years with a writer from his radio show. Not great!

23:07: And just when you thought the voice acting and unions story could take any different turn, let’s just say the Bayonetta 3 situation seemed to add to the situation…and took a major turn thanks to the former VA!

29:10: AI art suddenly went viral after something emerged in Japan, and many places are looking to curb submissions from AI art.

30:25: The Demon Girl Next Door manga will go on hiatus until next year due to Izumi Ito’s health.

43:40: Laid-Back Camp the Movie will screen at Anime NYC! The movie will also be added to Crunchyroll at some point, Justin wonders if it’ll be up before the year’s up; Crunchyroll will release the Quintessential Quintuplets film in theaters (sub and dub) across a number of regions this year and 2023.

44:51: Play it Cool, Guys did not have a streaming service announced to start the season — it then finally got announced by CR; HIDIVE will stream Lupin Zero at Anime NYC first, then on its service in December; and finally, the Eva 3.0+1.01 film will be shown in select IMAX theaters November 30.

Weird News

45:58: Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill is getting an anime by MAPPA…this January! But in one fell swoop, MAPPA ended up pulling a P.A. Works by adapting this work. This is the first time they’ve done an isekai…and a LN.

48:55: BL anime Ten Count is getting an anime film. This after it was announced back in 2018, was then revealed to be a TV anime and that it would air in 2020. None of that happened since the staff had to reconsider the format!

50:00: If you thought the Olympic Bribery Scandal was over…it won’t end for the foreseeable future!

51:54: Yep, the final bit of weird news involves the Simpsons parodying Death Note with the Death Tome! Yeah, it surprisingly looked good too!
