Pandemic News

8:02: So since March it was hard to forecast if NYCC and ANYC would go on, but as the months progressed, it was starting to become clear each had to start preparing alternatives. And now it’s official: both cons have been cancelled.

13:13: More reports of people testing positive for COVID-19 has happened in Japan, and while some things are starting to resume, others, like the Aquors Idol Group live dome tour, are getting cancelled.

13:50: It’s already happened, so put this as past news: Sentai at Home happened! Though Helen did use this opportunity to wonder why Sentai decided to have a screening for the Made in Abyss movie.

25:00: Media Blasters lives! Well, they’ve been around. And at some point they’re going to release Puppet Princess on BD.

25:55: J-Novel Club announced at Otakuthon at Home they’ve licensed Milligram & YukiKana’s I’ll Never Set Foot in That House Again! for their J-Novel Heart label and Mizuumi Amakawa & Mai Ooguma’s Fushi no Kami: Rebuilding Civilization Starts with a Village. They will also bring over the manga version of How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom in print format.

34:36: MANGA Plus added the spinoff to World’s End Harem that looks like it’s definitely otome inspired, ~Britannia Lumiére~. This also leads to a discussion on how Seven Seas might eventually handle bringing this over since it’s likely not remotely close to its counterparts, so having this as a Ghost Ship title might be a bit much.

39:10: VIZ went out and licensed every right of Genie Family 2020. Like, every right.

Streaming News

40:41: Genie Family 2020 will eventually stream on Crunchyroll this October. They are now streaming Cardfight!! Vanguard Extra Story -if-. Netflix will also be streaming The Promised Neverland next week. And yes, The Kartoon Channel is streaming Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V.

Weird News

41:52: Bleacher Report mashed up the NBA Playoffs with Cowboy Bebop‘s opening, and yes, it is indeed glorious.

43:58: Weird news from months ago!!! But Helen caught recently that someone created an extension that makes features on SAKUGABOORU much more accessible, and thought it was cool to point out.

45:30: When creators and cats collide, basically. Look at those cats!

46:39: Finally, just when we thought we could escape discussing plagiarism, noppppeeeee, one author decided it’s just not possible this time! And it involves a BL manga published by SuBLime
