The OASG Podcast

Show Notes

0:00: Justin and Helen chat across the internet to share what they’ve been up to, aside from one of the main topics this week. And that means Justin gets to discuss beating all the routes in Fire Emblem: Three Houses — and one light novel featuring an elf in Japan.

News

7:37: J-Novel Club launched a Kickstarter for Invaders of the Rokujouma, and that got funded really fast. Both hosts discuss what this could mean in general for future LN Kickstarters.

10:15: Weathering With You is gonna premiere in theaters January 17 in North America. When discussing this Helen wished it could have premiered sooner. Since we discussed this, a local convention will be premiering it in November.

10:56: Promare’s gonna get another showing December 8! Leave it to Justin to be told that maybe there’s a reason it’s gonna be shown at 12:55PM. Could’ve figured it out himself, but nope. Had to be told.

13:26: The Vic Mignogna case is over, short of him appealing. We can only hope this is actually over, but that’ll be up to him and the fans.

Mostly NYCC News

17:57: Cross Infinite World licensed Dragons and Fae: Is a Fairy Tale Ending Possible for the Princess’s Hairstylist?. It’ll be released November 12.

18:28: After dunking on Anime Fest x NYCC, the hosts talk about VIZ’s many licenses at NYCC. It was a good amount, from Rumiko Takahashi’s Maison Ikkoku (which neither of the hosts actually mentioned…apologies!) to a print release for Spy x Family to Ping Pong being released in the states.

24:14: Kodansha Comics continued to add to their digital roster, while announcing a print release for The Witch and the Beast.

26:46: TOKYOPOP licensed titles Helen’s interested in: The Gentle Noble’s Vacation Recommendation, The Fox and the Little Tanuki, Love Stories, and The Apple, the Rose, and the Vampire.

29:07: Finally, Manga Plus added a new title that has the name “Torture” in it. The “Torture” however, is in quotes…

Fall Anime 2019 Discussion!

31:09: Outside of a few shows, most of the Fall Anime has aired, which means Helen has to discuss all the anime she’s watched. Meanwhile Justin just mentions all the shows he plans on watching. There’s a lot to watch this season, from sequels to new shows to Bananya, and the two hosts both try to discuss what they’re interested in so far.

But yeah Justin has a lot to watch.

Weird News

54:57: Three absolute manga legends ended up crashing a bookstore and doodling on the wall. They would be monsters, but they’re manga legends so it’s all cool.

56:46: J-Novel Club released Sexiled, a girl kicked out of her party by a man because of her gender, and her adventures with a powerful sorceress. In the afterword, we learn that the creator of The Master of Ragnarok is supervising Ameko Kaeruda on this work. Yes, that was very unexpected.

58:40: Supposedly there’s a company that’s gonna use their AI to create an Osamu Tezuka manga. Yeah, Helen has thoughts about this one!
