Licensing News

22:33: Dark Horse licensed Ms. Koizumi Loves Ramen Noodles. It took a while for them to confirm, as this thread sorta shows.

24:11: Seven Seas announced that they licensed something that is exactly something they would license (Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!)

25:18: VIZ made some announcements. First, let’s start with SuBLime, who licensed Tanaka Ogeretsu’s Yarichin Bitch Club. VIZ then announced they would be releasing a box set of Yusei Matsui’s Assassination Classroom.

The next couple of licenses are typical:

  • Junji Ito’s No Longer Human (you’ll want to listen to the 26:20 mark for a stunning admission from Helen)
  • Taiyo Matsumoto’s Cats of the Louvre
  • Tasuku Karasuma’s No Guns Life
  • Haruhisa Nakata’s Levius and the sequel Levius/est

And then VIZ decided to mention they also got Kousuke Oono’s The Way of the Househusband (Gokushufudou), which seems pretty surprising actually.

33:47: And finally for licenses, Discotek announced a couple of anime, one of which Justin completely got mixed up with.

Weird News

35:40: The Chiitan anime is now delayed — whether it’s due to the lawsuit or behind the scenes shenanigans, who really knows.

36:46: Thanks to Frog-kun, we have been introduced to one of the best Yugi commercials ever, which involves a Yu-Gi-Oh! x Monster Strike collaboration, Yugi being unnecessarily a jerk, and a 10 minute aftermath video for a commercial that was 15 seconds!

41:22: In case you didn’t know, Gintama is not going to end for probably the 100th time. So it’s going to go the way of Kochikame and Conan and be a long-running manga series.

43:36: More details of your name., but the Hollywood version, is coming out. There’s…there’s going to be changes. BIG changes.

47:02: Finally, Kamen Rider has been running so long that…they are running out of places to film in Japan. To be clear, it’s because of the types of stunts they do that’s getting them in trouble.
