It's Not My Fault TheOASG Podcast is Not Popular!

Show Notes

0:00: The two hosts of TheOASG Podcast once again talk from wherever they are in America (one with poor internet) about what they’ve been up to over the past few weeks, though Thanksgiving and Turn A Gundam (and some Tearmoon Empire!) was brought up so that means someone had a better two weeks than the other!

News

7:00: Tokyo Otaku Mode recently got acquired by Shogakukan, which means Justin and Helen have to talk about what this could mean.

8:25: Drawn & Quarterly’s looking to form a union, which if this gets recognized, will be the next company that publishes manga (they’re mostly comics/graphic novels) to have one.

8:59: As expected, ComiXology will not exist as an app anymore — it will shut down December 4, so both hosts discuss and reminisce about using the service and now (maybe) using the Kindle app.

11:25: Kinnikuman is back in Japan! One of the members had to get knee surgery so they went on a hiatus, but they might be healed up and ready to go.

Licenses

12:34: Drawn & Quarterly has licensed Sanpei Shirato’s The Legend of Kamuy; Titan Comics announced they licensed two titles: Shadows of Kyoto and Villain Actor.

13:25: Meanwhile, the new publisher that Justin mentioned over a month ago finally announced their licenses! Only one additional title though: Bingo Morihashi & Manabu Akishige’s Kinryo Rock.
