It's Not My Fault TheOASG Podcast is Not Popular!

Show Notes

00: Helen went to Small Press Expo and had a good time. Justin talked about the Lycoris Recoil BD release and finishing Part 4 of Bookworm. Needless to say, [Redacted] became a popular word for Justin!

34: Tokyo Laboratory in JP will be shutting down in November, which is getting lots of people talking since they have a lot of material.

36: COO Brady McCollum is leaving Crunchyroll after 15 years, and Justin talks a bit about this news.

25: Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World Season 2 has been pushed to 2024. Makes sense, considering Silver Link is likely producing it since they did Season 1, and they’ve had a few other shows delayed over the past year.

20: Hiromu Arakawa’s getting admitted to the hospital after a mysterious result in one of her past medical checkups, which means The Heroic Legend of Arslan is going on a 1-issue break.

15: Yep, Netflix One Piece getting a Season 2 is not weird news at all! With the numbers it’s pulling, definitely not in any way unusual.

22: The creator of Space Adventure Cobra, Buichi Terasawa, passed away at 68 due to a heart attack September 8 — the two hosts discuss his impact on WSJ and the industry at large.

Weird News

49: Apparently Serial Experiments Lain and AI is now a thing, and both hosts are certain the Lain fans are happy to hear this news. (The fans are probably not.)

40: Apparently according to ChatGPT, Heybot the anime doesn’t exist. Oops!

39: Justin messed this up, but it’s nice to note the studio who Hayao Miyazaki called out for creating something that “was an insult to life” created something following that experience!

00: Speaking of Miyazaki, he has failed to retire for a fourth time! It appears he does not know what that means.

18: One Piece, Fortnite, and NFL players all doing what? Of course they’d want to do this!

00: Finally, manga artist Hiroyuki has been buying a bunch of expensive wristwatches and appears to be in debt. How does he get out of it? By selling an semi auto-biographical manga about it. Even admitted he’s using the money he makes from its sales to get out of the debt. Just the Weirdest News of All Time. Legendary.
