It's Not My Fault TheOASG Podcast is Not Popular!

Show Notes

0:00: Justin and Helen, as usual, discuss while in two different locations what they’ve been up to over the past few weeks. One did something productive (Watch Barbie), the other…did something unproductive (Fire Emblem…HEROES!). You can figure out who did what already!

News

8:42: Last year VA Ami Maeshima was in poor physical condition and had to go on hiatus from her roles. But now she has returned, and is looking to get back into the swing of things.

9:39: Every year there’s generally production issues with every anime, some far worse than others. Zom 100’s case now joins anime like 86 and Nier where too many issues have caused this series to have a schedule like this.

…Only for days later for their 7th episode to be delayed on streaming services!

17:43: More delays, this one mostly shocking because of the timing: the new Naruto episodes, planned to air an episode for four straight weeks, got postponed because the staff wanted to improve the quality. All good, just mysterious since they announced a September 3 premiere date and announced this delay August 29.

19:22: The United Workers of Seven Seas (UW7S) have voted to ratify their new contract with Seven Seas, and Helen discusses the significance of this announcement.

22:09: Anime art director Nizo Yamamoto, who worked on titles such as Laputa, Princess Mononoke, and Weathering With You, passed away due to stomach cancer on Saturday, August 19.

35:07: For Canadian Sailor Moon fans, Crave unfortunately is removing all the episodes of the anime from their service in Canada September 17.

Weird News

36:41: We certainly live in reboot culture in most areas of entertainment, but one noticeable thing for anime is reviving popular in their hey day anime series with a brand new season. Black Butler recently was one title that got a shocking announcement for a new season since it’s been far too long, and now we can add Kimi ni Todoke to the list!

39:20: Zom 100 recently had a crossover episode event with the Franchouchou girls from Zombieland Saga in what should be a perfect crossover. Key word should, but in actual execution…

40:09: Needless to say, fandom…and well, people in general…can be crazy. Far too crazy.

45:30: There was a recent celebration of Urusei Yatsura for its 45th Anniversary, with a number of illustrations honoring Lum and the wacky cast of characters. This of course led Gintama creator Hideaki Sorachi to admit something that should totally shame him, but this would mean he’d know what shame was in the first place!

47:22: My Dress-Up Darling is doing something interesting — they’re switching to monthly chapters for their current arc, so it’s only temporary until it’s done.

49:17: A pilotable transforming robot could be purchased by someone!…For far too money.

50:40: Finally, there will be plenty of weird stories, but Netflix One Piece actually succeeding critically is possibly the biggest weirdest news story of the year. Justin at least makes that case during this segment.
