It's Not My Fault TheOASG Podcast is Not Popular!

Show Notes

0:00: The two hosts of It’s Not My Fault TheOASG Podcast Is Not Popular once again chat over the internet about what they’ve been up to over the past two weeks. Helen has (aside from checking out Gene of Ai) been doing nothing but playing Genshin and defeating gods. Justin meanwhile has only being reading a light novel about a Saint er Beast Tamer who wants the fluff!

News

8:42: The creator of Haven’t You Heard? I’m Sakamoto, Nami Sato, passed away at 36 due to cancer — the two hosts discuss this significant loss in the manga industry.

10:56: Manga creator Yūji Takemura reported on Tuesday that his brother-in-law, anime producer Shunpei Maruyama, has passed away. Shunpei was the producer of Girls und Panzer and Princess Principal.

12:24: Black Clover will end its final arc in Jump GIGA — the long-running series is moving from Weekly Shonen Jump to now a quarterly magazine, and Justin reflects overall on the move and what this means.

14:29: Shonen Magazine Edge will be ending publication in October, leaving a few manga series up in the air of their fates while others will be moved to Magazine Pocket. Either way, the two hosts discuss another magazine that’s ending.

15:52: Aka Akasaka had to take a month off due to his health, so his current series Oshi no Ko and Renai Daikou also took a month off. Well, at least for Oshi no Ko it’s main storyline is on break, so now Mengo Yokokari’s taking over with some new side story chapters! (This also is where Helen out of nowhere discovered something Aka was doing at this time!)

17:16: When Justin and Helen discussed the latest Zom 100 delay, it was due to a sporting event that delayed episode 6. Welp, you can guess what the two hosts will be discussing next episode!

Licenses

18:33: Titan Manga had some announcements on ANN! Grace Rosa and Speed Grapher, all coming out in 2024.

Streaming News

24:10: Move over Netflix, now Disney’s joining the password cracking sharing game! The two hosts discuss just what this company is trying to do.

29:55: The Boy and the Heron will soon premiere at a festival in Justin’s city real soon!

31:45: Crunchyroll has added the My Hero Academia: Two Heroes film to their service, and a few more upcoming new series will be on the service as well.

Weird News

33:22: Mushoku Tensei had a bit of a controversy in the past few weeks, and Justin had to note of course the inspiration for some of the current isekai would be the first to have their author state they do not condone slavery!

37:43: Susumu Higa’s Okinawa just came out this week, but it was supposed to come out back in July. The problem? The Chinese printer had content issues with the manga. Likely a first for manga, but as Helen noted, not as uncommon in stuff like webtoons.

41:07: Normally a company releasing stills of their work isn’t anywhere close to weird news worthy, but The Boy and the Heron finally got screen shots revealed just after the film got released in Japanese theaters! Incredible marketing campaign that will likely succeed.

45:55: Sadao Maou featured in a McDonalds ad campaign? McRonalds must sure love the free promotion!

48:05: And finally, earlier we talked about Aka Akasaka’s health, Helen discovered Aka might’ve been playing some Apex Legends with a VTuber and the creator of My Senpai is Annoying might’ve also being teammates with Aka? Mangaka playing Apex is now a thing!
