It's Not My Fault TheOASG Podcast is Not Popular!

Show Notes

0:00: Justin and Helen once again discuss much of what’s been going on with them over the past few weeks over the internet. One went to Otakon and had a time (and also checked out Dark Gathering!). One of them has been involved with reading a book about a time loop. 7 of them.

News

16:27: Zom 100 had a terrific debut episode that also went out of its way to use OLM as reference for really bad working conditions (as a stand in since the manga came up with a company, BUG FILMS decided to use OLM for the anime), but some episodes later, it got delayed a day on certain streaming services due to production circumstances, and now it’s fifth episode got delayed across the board, so…not great!

17:50: My Tiny Senpai is also seeing a delay of its sixth episode, so more anime seasonal delays!

Licenses

18:13: Discotek catered to one particular subset of fans to make them incredibly happy while at Otakon, but here’s their list of announcements at the convention:

  • Overman King Gainer
  • Lupin the Third: Seven Days Rhapsody
  • Lady Georgie (SD-BD)
  • Midnight Eye Goku
  • Cybersix
  • Crying Freeman
  • Chargeman Ken! (BD release)
  • Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie on 4K UHD
  • Mamoru Oshii’s Tachigui: The Amazing Lives of the Fast Food Grifters (live-action)
  • Digimon Adventure 02 (English and Japanese BDs)
  • Four Digimon films in a “Digimon the Movies Collection 1″ set: Digimon Adventure, Digimon Adventure Our War Game!, Digimon Adventure 02: Digimon Hurricane Touchdown!!, Digimon: The Movie.

23:20: Anime Limited will release both the Macross Plus OVA series and the Macross Plus Movie Edition compilation film either late this year or early 2024.

24:37: Dark Horse announced exclusively on ANN they’ve licensed licensed Karin Suzuragi’s Danganronpa 2: Chiaki Nanami’s Goodbye Despair Quest; Irodori Comics revealed on Monday that the company is launching a Kickstarter campaign for Isaki Uta: The Lost & Found Collection, which will have the following 4 works: Mine-kun is Asexual, Leaper, Mermaid in the Bottle, and Silkscreen.

27:08: Seven Seas will produce audiobooks of Mushoku Tensei.

Streaming News

28:57: The latest Bakugan anime will stream on Netflix September 1, and it will also air on Disney XD September 20; The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit on Goodbyes will stream in theaters this Fall.

Weird News

29:50: It appears the stalking case involving Uta Kawase might be resolved, as police have arrested the alleged stalker.

31:00: Bandai has left Miorine and Suletta’s relationship open to interpretation in Witch From Mercury following a magazine issue that initially had Kana Ichinose say Suletta was married but for the digital editions the marriage part later got removed, and then Bandai essentially stated the editor was supposed to remove that (They didn’t). Despite numerous marketing and the series stating the characters are very much married, Bandai came up with this response. Just very bizarre.

34:49: NFTs will never die…in Japan we guess! But we got another NFT company teaming up with a pop artist for a music video, so yes, the craze still continues!

36:40: ANN had to resort to the last option of posting a news article telling the winner to please respond to their email or else you’ll miss out on a trip to Japan. That…that’s definitely the weirdest English language anime-related news the two hosts have seen in some time.

38:35: Finally, Shinji Aramaki talks about an Aliens vs. Predator anime he worked on ages ago that’s locked somewhere in the Disney vault and no one has any idea when it will be let loose from it!
