Streaming News

22:22: Helen and Justin both attempt to figure out what the heck is Disney doing with their anime…at the time it was first because of their absolutely strange marketing (lack of marketing) for Bleach: Thousand-Year War, which did ensure those in North America could see the series on Hulu, but then other regions could not, despite them saying they could see it on Disney+ internationally. But then two Disney+ anime have finally been announced to be on the service…well, actually, one of them:

This leads to Justin speculating that Summer Time Rendering will go on Hulu, and at least these titles will not be weirdly on-hold for a long time. But overall, Disney…and VIZ for Bleach, have to take some heat regarding how things have been handled.

31:46: Late Fall anime Arknights Prelude to Dawn will stream on Crunchyroll October 28; Crunchyroll will be raising the subscription prices in other regions at the end of the month.

33:44: Dororo will now be streamed on HIDIVE in January; the final part of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean will stream on Netflix December 1.

Main Topic: Fall Anime 2022 First Impressions

35:30: Justin and Helen talk about what they’ve checked out this Fall anime season, ranging from some of the big stuff (Chainsaw Man, Bleach, Gundam: Witch From Mercury) to some surprises (Akiba Maid War, Raven of the Inner Palace). The anime covered in this section:

Housing Complex C, My Master Has No Tail, Gundam: Witch From Mercury, BLUE LOCK, Akiba Maid War, Bleach: Thousand Year War, Chainsaw Man, Do It Yourself!, Bocchi the Rock, Encouragement of Climb Season 4, Golden Kamuy Season 4, Pop Team Epic Season 2, Raven of the Inner Palace, Spy x Family, Urusei Yatsura, I’m the Villainess So I’m Taming the Final Boss

Weird News

1:22:27: Can call this the Gundam: Witch From Mercury section since we got some weird news involving the series:

1:25:20: Uzaki-chan Season 2 is airing this fall season and it’s time for marketing to go full force! Japan’s biggest eSports park is collaborating with the anime series, so games and possible memes may be involved.

1:25:53: The anime says Ilya Ilyukhin’s Bulgarian. But the manga says Ilya’s Russian. Love Flops appears to have gotten some signals crossed!

1:27:24: Vic Mignogna’s court re-hearing got denied…which isn’t a surprise.

1:28:04: Kadokawa had a couple people resign after their involvement in the Olympic Bribing scandal, which, well, is also not a surprise!

1:29:16: US Consumer Product Safety Commission has now gotten involved in the Chainsaw Man discourse, for various reasons.

1:30:42: The latest ridiculously sized Pokémon cushion (Garchomp) is up for pre-orders, so both hosts wonder how big it actually is.

1:32:00: On it’s own The Great Cleric is not worthy of being in this section. But of course, there’s a reason why it’s here, and it involves Helen thinking it had gotten an anime two years ago for whatever reason. She wonders what she got it mixed up with!

1:33:01: VTubers and Splatoon 3 is a good combo, but let’s just say you should use that combination for good, not for…this.
