News

5:40: After some back-and-forth, Seven Seas has finally recognized their Union…now it’ll be a case of waiting for that first contract to be done, however long that will take. The two hosts talk about how this could affect the rest of the industry at large.

12:38: Welp, Cool Japan might end due to debt issues, which means Justin and Helen have some thoughts about this program in general!

13:37: Oh! Great will be going on hiatus due to health issues, so that means Bakemonogatari will go on pause; same with Yamaguchi-kun Isn’t So Bad, but that’s because Yuu Saiki’s giving birth.

Streaming News

20:05: Netflix is allegedly streaming Uncle From Another World July 6…except there’s been some inconsistency on if it’s actually going up at that date when there’s also a July 20 date as well. They’ve also given a date for Detective Conan: Zero’s Tea Time.

22:24: PokéToons is now streaming on Pokémon TV; given the OVA is now streaming on Crunchyroll.

Spring Anime 2022 Final Impressions

23:07: Helen and Justin talk about what was ultimately a very packed anime season…so packed one of the hosts missed a few titles to talk about! You’ll find out what they were in the weird news section. But until then, hear Justin give his final…FINAL…thoughts on the final season of Magia Record, Helen talks about a few of her stalled series (like Deaimon, but also The Demon Girl Next Door but only because as of when this episode was recorded it didn’t finish), and both get into what they’ve ultimately liked (The Executioner and Her Way of Life, Love After World Domination, and Spy x Family to name a few) and then there’s Dance Dance Danseur (49:14).

Of course however the two hosts talk about Season 3 of Ascendance of a Bookworm (1:06:32), which Helen and Justin had thoughts about how it was handled.

Weird News

1:17:04: It’s happening. One of the most popular idol shows (Love Live!) is now getting an isekai anime!…All thanks to Yohane!

1:19:22: Apparently the combination of Street Fighter & Kouji Seo is something everyone needed!…Justin had to figure out why this happened.

1:20:24: NFTs will never die…in Japan at least for now based now on Lupin the 3rd getting involved in it!

1:21:06: Cause it makes total sense, Bkub Okawa has joined the V-Tuber craze.

1:22:04: Unfortunate news for those involved in the 22/7 idol project — management had to put out a statement as certain fans were stalking their talent. Not great!

1:22:56: And during the 22/7 idol project segment, Helen DID forget one of her spring shows in Heroines Run the Show (likely due to the subject matter!). So she talks about that…and Healer Girl, ANOTHER show she forgot to talk about!

1:26:37: Interesting marketing strategy: someone created a ‘$6,000,000 Bounty’ Twitter account which you’d think no one would totally care about…but the editor of Trigun retweeted it and then the publisher of Trigun retweeted it…which meant something was cooking, and it did, as Studio Orange will be working on a new version of the series.

1:28:44: One-Punch Man gets the Hollywood treatment, which means Justin and Helen will be skeptical of its success.

1:30:07: Because apparently the first collaboration was popular, there are now more Naruto characters in Fortnite!

1:30:38: And finally, apparently someone ordered a Char collaboration with McDonalds…and welp, it’s as crazy as you’d think. Helen thinks they missed out on some good names though.
