11:08: Not surprisingly, Japan is extending their State of Emergency to the end of the month…and that makes sense, as the pandemic continues to spread around there. The two hosts talk about a few of the voice actors recovering after testing positive for the COVID, but we have more delays and cancellations:

15:46: Justin and Helen discuss Gackt going on indefinite hiatus due to a neurological disease; Kiyoshi Kobayashi will end his 52-year run as the voice of Jigen, and Helen brings up one fascinating story involving the new voice of Jigen, Akio Ohtsuka.

18:34: Comikey has announced a partnership with Hakusensha, and now they have the following titles on their service:

21:23: UDON Entertainment announced some more details on its release of Steins;Gate 0 but also announced a complete collection of the Steins;Gate manga.

25:50: Pandemic romance manga New Normal is now up on BOOKWALKER! (It soon later got added to Manga Club)

27:25: As expected, HIDIVE will be leaving VRV, and Justin and Helen discuss this news.

29:30: More anime has been added to RetroCrush but it doesn’t involve the one title Helen’s been wanting for months:

  • Princess Nine (September 10)
  • Stellvia (September 17)
  • Galaxy Angel S, Galaxy Angel A, Galaxy Angel AA, Galaxy Angel X, and Galaxy Angel Rune (September 24)

30:24: The Heike Story has started airing now, but…this was supposed to air in Winter 2022? Justin and Helen talk about this show streaming online as early as it is.

33:12: GOD MARS and a lot of Lupin the III got added to Funimation recently…but you can’t help but be amused at The Woman Called Fujiko Mine returning to the service after they let the rights expire. Also more Gundam is up on Funimation.

35:13: More Anpanman films have been added to Tubi TV…as in, like 7 more!

36:10: Netflix will stream the France-Luxembourg animated film of Jiro Taniguchi’s The Summit of the Gods November 30, and the two hosts discuss this somewhat interesting news; The newest Baki season will all drop at the end of the month; and some Fall streaming news — Blue Period is actually going to get simulcasted by Netflix?!? Needless to say, between this and the Jojo news, the two hosts have much to discuss.

Weird News

39:30: Justin and Helen somewhat lament the lack of a lot of weird news over the past few weeks, but the good news is Otaku Coin did much of the heavy lifting for weird news for the hosts this week!

43:12: Gold Ship from Uma Musume has been turned into a scarecrow for a local festival in Japan, and yes, the two hosts were amused at hearing about this.

44:51: One day Justin will consider putting something like this in a normal section…but until there’s more good news regarding live-action works, One Piece by Netflix will be in the weird news section!
