Show Notes

0:00: Justin and Helen once again have a lot to talk about so no what they’ve been up to this time! Not too much pandemic news, but know that vaccines are continuing to roll out, and there are places that, unfortunately, have been hit too hard to resume business because of COVID-19.

3:41: Manga Entertainment has now officially been rebranded into Funimation for UK and Ireland audiences; and speaking of Funimation, they did reach a settlement after they were sued back in January for their shop site not meeting ADA standards.

5:07: Justin and Helen have on and off talked about titles getting reprinted or still being out of stock at stores, but Ben Applegate, who works at Kodansha, took to Twitter to note that manga sales have tripled since this point last year, which means there’s going to be a lot of titles that need to be reprinted but it’s going to be a while since COVID-19 protocols and not enough printers will slow things down. So in theory, this is great, but Justin (surprisingly) has some worries about what’s selling during pandemic time…and what isn’t.
