Show Notes

0:00: Justin and Helen again talk over the internet about what they’re up to. Well for Justin it’s just reading Bookworm Part 2, Volume 1 and confusing Helen over how it’s named because only he can. As for Helen, let’s just say she’s revived an old blog to go over what she’s been doing.

News

14:18: We’ve talked about Blue Flag and Act-Age on this podcast a couple times, and now we can finally say they’re both now in the Shonen Jump vault! Justin can only exhibit patience as Helen demands more of each.

Licenses

15:25: GKIDS licensed Kenji Iwaisawa’s On-Gaku: Our Sound and Masaaki Yuasa’s Inu-Oh, which means more GKIDS bringing over some interesting stuff!

16:16: BookWalker is teaming up with Kodansha USA to release Soborou’s Why The Hell Are You Here, Teacher!? and Kimitake Yoshioka’s TenPuru…not temple. This manages to remind Helen of a couple manga Yen Press was supposed to bring over and never did.

19:12: Mangamo is gonna launch a manga version of that Japan Sinks anime that’ll be airing on Netflix. This, however, was not a normal announcement.

21:03: Finally, Kodansha Comics and Vertical held a licensing event on YouTube, and here’s their announcements:

Main Topic: Spring Anime 2020 Season

30:03: The two hosts talk about what ultimately was a strange anime season (as we all know), which is reflected in the amount of new shows they’ve watched…though My Next Life as a Villainess and Bookworm S2 definitely stood out to Justin and Helen this year.

Weird News

1:01:30: So a musician, Teruki Goto, cosplayed as Lelouch while also campaigning in the 2020 Tokyo Governor elections. What seemed like something amusing…ended up leading to a lot more!
