Anime-Planet, a popular database and destination for streaming official dubbed and subbed anime and videos from Crunchyroll, HIDIVE, and YouTube, is launching something new:

An official Online Reading Portal.

J-Novel Club Anime Planet Partnership

Anime-Planet has announced that they will be partnering with J-Novel Club. This means they will have their catalog of over 100 light novel and manga previews in the Online Reading portal. This includes links to purchase eBooks or physical volumes from various online retailers for each title.

“Anime Planet has been one of the premier websites for cataloging and sharing your love of anime and manga for as long as I’ve been a fan myself,” mentioned J-Novel Club President and Founder Sam Pinansky to TheOASG. “We are proud to partner with them to give samples of our light novels and manga directly to their dedicated user base.” The growing light novel and manga company, which has published over 450 volumes of light novels and manga in a three-year span, will work with Anime-Planet to add more English-translated content to its members in the future.

Anime-Planet has been an information database for media content — from manga, anime, light novels, and more — since 2001. With the launch of the Online Reading Portal, they will now be offering a new option to their service. “Six years ago we launched our ‘watch online’ portal on Anime-Planet, which lets the community watch aggregated, legal streaming episodes in the same place that they track their viewing history,” said Anime-Planet Founder Kim Cameron to TheOASG. “We’re so excited to announce our partnership with J-Novel Club to bring legal manga and light novels to the community as well in our new ‘read online’ portal.

“J-Novel Club is a leading publisher in the industry for a wide range of genres from isekai to shoujo and more. We’re proud to have the opportunity to help fans discover more of their favorite content while supporting the industry.”

The Online Reading Portal is launching Monday, May 25.
