I'm the simulcast writer, and write the Otaku Theater column. I also occasionally write other little things here. It all started at age 12, with Sailor Moon. My tastes changed over time to fantasy shows and slice-of-life. I do understand that there are other things in life, though. For me, it's Overwatch, Splatoon and Formula 1. As the only Brit in OASG, I am probably the most cynical, although that is questionable.

Aoba returns. Come on…tell me you haven’t missed this girl, I dare you. In season 2 of New Game! (where they, predictably, add another exclamation mark to the title), everyone else is back too! I like how they decided to just go...

Anime Expo 2018 is confirmed for me! I hope that those who were able to go to AX this year had fun; I’m very sure I will when I go next year. A bigger deal for me, as I have a return flight to Los Angeles, a hotel for about a week, and...

Finally over. This cour felt like it lasted forever. But I won’t say it was a chore. There are some seasons that just fly past, and seasons like this that feel like they don’t want to end. Of course, all anime seasons end. And all...

The time for waiting in long queues for con badges is here. Summer is back! We’ll be expecting super-high temperatures no doubt, but it’s not like those climate change deniers could care. I mean, it’s only rising sea levels,...

I'm no longer ill. …and as the Spring shows wind down, they begin to get better. At least they’ll be ending on a high note. If last week’s Saekano Flat brought us up, then this week’s one (ie. Episode 11) brought us back...

I'm still ill, and any self-confessed weeb would say that anime is the best medicine. …well, I am not convinced, especially as this week was hit-and-miss. We’re nearing the end of this season, but it certainly doesn’t feel...

Prepare yourself. I’ve been trying to ignore UK politics (we’ve had an election) and every other recent tragedy (first Manchester, then London), but with wall-to-wall coverage on TV, it’s kind of hard. It’s times like...

My shows for summer have already been chosen. Not long now until my Spring shows end. Well, Sakura Quest is still roughly halfway through and I’m beginning to get addicted to its charming and non-pretentious manner. Continuing from last...

#westandtogether This week’s post will be about the episodes I’ve seen of course, but there also has been news that happened a little close to home for me which made me pause from anime. I have friends who live in Manchester who...

I'm not drinking ever again... …or so I wish. Eurovision did rock on May 13th, though. It’s the one thing some Europeans, like us, British, love with all our hearts, regardless of how ridiculous it can get. Well anyway, after a hangover,...
